Beyond the software

Developing a great web site depends on more than just using good software. Designing pages which are user friendly and accessible to everyone, attracting and keeping visitors, writing and creating appropriate content and bringing projects in on time are all factors which we can't afford to ignore. The following courses offer skills for building web sites which really work.

Usability and Web Design:

A theoretical course providing insight into effective web design techniques, making web sites easier to use and meeting the needs and expectations of visitors. The focus is on developing successful web sites beyond the purely technical skills of web building.

Advice on finding work, building a portfolio, pricing a job, taking and writing a brief, project management and writing a contract. A kick start for those beginning a career in the new media industry.
