Dreamweaver Introductory Level
Course Description

An introduction to the essentials of web building using Dreamweaver, focusing on technical skills and good practice.

Dreamweaver made by Macromedia is the industry leading web page authoring software, ideal for beginners and experienced developers alike. It has an easy to use WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface and creates the required HTML code for you, although HTML editing is also possible. Dreamweaver also has good file and content management features.

If the aims or topics you require are not listed in this description, please contact Christina to see if the training can be adapted to include them.

This course will enable delegates to:

  • Identify and address issues for designers and visitors
  • Create layouts with tables
  • Plan and build navigation into pages
  • Add interactive elements such as rollover images
  • Format and update pages with Cascading Style Sheets
  • Publish sites with FTP

Suitable for delegates who wish to focus on the practical and technical issues of building and managing sites, using an authoring package for fast results rather than learning the HTML language and writing the code themselves.

This course has also been found useful by managers and marketing executives who may not be expecting to build sites but are keen to understand what's involved in web development, in order to gain an informed perspective on the tasks involved and achieve better communication with team members.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with basic computer skills on either Windows or Mac platform is necessary and using the Internet is advisable. Experience of writing simple HTML code would also be very helpful, but it is possible to adapt the course to provide some HTML familiarity.
